Executive Branch
Executive Branch is divided into two units.
The Aviation and Maritime Unit has responsibility for all matters relating to the Naval Service and the Air Corps. This includes air ambulance, fishery protection, control of pollution at sea and the Ministerial Air Transport Service (MATS). The Unit also has responsibility for the Army Equitation School and the Civil Defence.
The Security and Community Support Unit has responsibility for a wide range of functions including Defence Forces assistance in major emergencies, matters relating to Aid to the Civil Power and Aid to the Civil Authority. This Unit also has responsibility for community services, military participation in ceremonial occasions including the Easter Sunday and Arbour Hill 1916 commemorative ceremonies and matters relating to the Red Cross Society. |
