Déanann an Tuarascáil Bhliantúil seo athbhreithniú ar fheidhmíocht na Roinne Cosanta agus Óglaigh
na hÉireann le linn 2008. Déantar feidhmíocht a athbhreithniú de réir na gceannteideal agus cuspóirí
cláir, atá leagtha amach i Ráiteas Straitéise na Roinne Cosanta agus Óglaigh na hÉireann 2008 – 2010,agus
réitíonn sé le struchtúr Ráiteas Bliantúil Aschur na Roinne Cosanta.
Tá an tuarascáil leagtha amach ina gcúig chuid, le haon aguisín amháin, mar seo a leanas:
Cuid 1 – Cumais Theagmhasacha a Fhorbairt agus a Choimeád
Tugann an chuid seo tuairisc ar ghníomhaíochtaí agus aschuir i réimsí na traenála, an teagaisc, an trealaimh,
an bhonneagair agus an phearsanra a thacaíonn le forbairt na gcumas teagmhasach míleata atá ag
teastáil chun na róil sannaithe a chomhlíonadh agus a dhéanann iad a choimeád.
Cuid 2 – Slándáil ar an Oileán agus Tacaíocht do Ghníomhaireachtaí Eile
Tugann an Chuid seo tuairisc ar ghníomhaíochtaí agus aschuir sna réimsí Cúnamh don Chumhacht Shibhialta,
Cúnamh don Údarás Sibhialta, agus tabhairt seirbhísí do Ranna Rialtais agus gníomhaireachtaí eile.
Cuid 3 – Síocháin agus Slándáil Idirnáisiúnta
Tugann an Chuid seo tuairisc ar ghníomhaíochtaí agus aschuir a thacaíonn le beartas an Rialtais i síocháin
agus slándáil idirnáisiúnta a chur chun cinn agus go háirithe in Oibríochtaí Idirnáisiúnta Tacaíochta
Síochána a sheachadadh.
Cuid 4 – Beartas Cosanta, Comhairle Mhíleata agus Seirbhísí Corparáideacha
Tugann an Chuid seo tuairisc ghinearálta ar thabhairt comhairle beartais agus airm, obair na hOifige um
Pleanáil Éigeandála agus ar fheidhmeanna na seirbhísí corparáideacha.
Cuid 5 – Tuarascáil Airgeadais
Sa Chuid seo tá tuarascáil ar chaiteachas i 2008 ó Vóta 36 agus 37 i dteannta le sliocht ón Ráiteas Bliantúil ar
Aschur. Áiríonn an dara ceann teilgin do 2009 agus sonraí ar aschuir do 2008.
Aguisín 1 – Bunús Reachtúil, Struchtúr Eagraíochta agus Róil
Leagann an Tuarascáil seo amach an creat reachtúil a bhfeidhmíonn an Roinn Cosanta agus Óglaigh na
hÉireann laistigh de.
Freisin comhlíonann an Tuarascáil seo riachtanais Cuid 4(1)(b) den Acht Seirbhíse Poiblí (Bainistíocht), 1997
