The Minister for Justice, Equality and Defence, Mr Alan Shatter, T.D., commended the Defence Forces for their contribution to the fire fighting efforts in the North West of the country today. The Defence Forces responded to a request from the local authorities early this morning. He thanked all of the personnel involved for their heroic efforts in fighting the fires over the bank holiday weekend.
